Area: 416 m2

The large Eucalyptus trees dominate the site. Small volumes of buildings are scattered pavilions within the landscape, some in use and some abandoned. This patchwork of small buildings, exposed soil and large trees defines the space as a garden. Our concept is to include the small buildings within our program. A larger vision aims at transforming the whole complex into a community hub. Indoor classrooms can spill towards the garden and vice versa. The roofs become accessible spaces that host activities and the slanted concrete structures (unused access to the shelters) become a major feature of the site: we will transform them into main play equipment including concrete slides / tree house. Simple materials are used such as permeable interlocking concrete paving and concrete benches.
